Taxes

Britton Village taxes are due and payable each year on or before September 14th.  After this date, a penalty of 3% will be added and taxes will be payable at the Lenawee County Treasurer's office at the Old Courthouse in Adrian.

Payment by mail is recommended and encouraged.  If you need a receipt, please return both copies with your payment and the 2nd copy will be stamped paid and returned to you.

However, you may pay your taxes, in person, at the Treasurer's home at 230 N. Main Street on the following days and times stated only:       

                                THURSDAYS

                                Sept. 6th & 13th            9:00AM - 4:00PM

                                SATURDAYS

                                Sept. 1st & 8th               9:00AM - 12:00PM

 

The state-equalized value (SEV) of the Village of Britton in 2006 is $15,470,165.00.  The millage rate is 9.6783 mills (per 1,000). All monies collected go into the Village of Britton General Fund for operational purposes.

SEWER ASSESSMENT

IN 1979 THE HOOK UP FEE FOR EACH UNIT WAS $2,120.  THIS FEE WAS TO BE PRORATED ACROSS 30 YEARS ON YOUR SUMMER TAX BILL. 

 

AFTER PAYING YOUR SUMMER TAX BILL IN 2007, THE BALANCE WILL BE PAID IN FULL.  THIS IS THE 30th YEAR OF THIS ASSESSMENT.
