Council Meeting Schedule 2012

The Britton Village Council meets the first and third Monday
of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Council room (adjacent to the library).
Some holidays that fall on these days will postpone the meeting for that Tuesday.
All meetings are open to the public.
Anyone seeking information may call the Village office or attend the Council Meetings.

 The Clerk's office is located on the corner of
M-50 and South Main street, behind the Fire Station.

This same building houses the Council Meeting Room
and The Public Library.


Office Hours
Monday through Friday    8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.

With the exception of dates when Council Meetings are scheduled.
The office will be open from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on these dates.

Britton Village taxes are due and payable each year on or before September 14th.
After this date, a penalty will be added and taxes must be paid at the
Lenawee County Treasurer's Office at the Old Courthouse in Adrian.

Payment by mail is recommended and encouraged.
If you need a receipt, please return both copies (top and bottom portions)
with your payment and the 2nd copy will be stamped paid and returned to you.

However, you may pay your taxes in person at the Treasurer's home
at 230 North Main St. on the following days and times stated only:
THURSDAYS
     SEPTEMBER 1st AND 8th     9:00 A.M. - 4:00 P.M.
SATURDAYS
     SEPTEMBER 3rd AND 10th     9:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M.

The state-equalized value (SEV) of the Village of Britton is $14,857,278. 
The millage rate is 9.5186 mills (per 1,000).
All monies collected go into the Village of Britton General Fund for operational purposes.

The Planning Commission meets the third Thursday of the month at 7:30 p.m.
in the Council Room.  Their purpose is to make recommendations on variances,
zoning, and to meet state environmental specifications for the Village Council.
The meetings are open to the public.

The Village of Britton Library is a branch of the Lenawee County Library System.
Books, movies and audio tapes are circulated, typically three times per week,
among all of the branches in Lenawee County.
Inquire within for a schedule of wonderful children's activities.

Wednesday 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
Friday 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
Saturday 9:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
